I’ve heard preachers tell their congregations that “You can’t understand the book of Revelation. It must apply to the distant future and isn’t relevant to our time.” I’ve found, however, that much of what the prophets Daniel and Ezekiel tell us is similar and putting them together (with Revelation) I can understand it and see its relevance to our time. I am particularly intrigued by their description of God’s glory; how they describe its appearance with gemstones rather than just colors. Perhaps you would be so good as to expound on why these writers described things as they did?
