Paul declared that as Spirit-filled believers we wrestle against the “world forces of this darkness" (Ephesians 6:12). The impact of these forces is becoming increasing apparent for any to see. These forces are moving the human community into a position in direct opposition to God.
The “world forces of this darkness” are spiritual entities which operate behind the scene, functioning through human vessels in opposition to the stated will of God. As a result they must be discerned rather than observed directly. Jesus, speaking of the spirit-filled participants in the Kingdom of God, said, “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know were it comes from and where it is going, so is everyone who is born of the Spirit “(John 3:8). Jesus is speaking of how the Holy Spirit operates in a believer. This operation must be discerned. Spiritual forces of darkness, likewise, must be discerned.
Spiritual forces influence individuals in the form of such drives as lust, pride, greed, etc. The obvious result of their unchecked manifestation in individuals is destruction. These same forces operate through those in leadership positions in the human community with a much, more widespread impact. Whole nations have been destroyed due to the demonic inspired activities of a leader. Hitler’s Germany is a recent example of this phenomenon. Frequently, the individuals themselves do not recognize how they are being used. They are moved by their own desire for such things as power, fame and greed. Some, I’m sure, go further by making Faustian deals to achieve their personal goals. At any rate, they become the willing vessel of manifestation of the “world forces of this darkness” spoken of by Paul.
Four thousand years ago, God initiated His direct, constructive plan of redemption as He called Abraham from his ancestral home to a place which God had chosen as the eventual seat of His Kingdom. God began the process of revealing His intention of establishing His direct rule, the Kingdom of God, in the midst of the human community on planet earth. He worked through Abraham and his descendants to reveal His plan and then to implement it. The ingathering of the people of Israel to the Land of Israel over the past 130 years is the boldest sign that God is bringing this process to its climatic conclusion. No one knows the exact time line by which it will be accomplished but it appears to be in the short-term rather than long-term. This process poses the ultimate threat to the “world forces of this darkness”.
John in the book of Revelation relates how Satan and the demonic host following him were thrown down onto the earth. Satan bore great wrath because his time was short. “For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time” (Revelation 12:12).
It is evident that with the ingathering of Israel that this shortness of time has been emphatically emphasized to Satan. On the spiritual level this has brought a growing pressure for the global unification of the entire race into a single instrument that can be used in an attempt to destroy God’s chosen vessel of redemption. This trend is most evident in the quest throughout the 20th and now the 21st centuries of establishing a global government (the League of Nation and the United Nations). On the intellectual level of world leaders and those attempting to influence policy, there has been a conscious effort to subvert the concept of nationalism and, in turn, to create a global village with a concentration of military and economic power. This, we believe, is the real motivation of the Nobel committee in awarding the Peace Prize to Mr. Obama. According to Biblical prophecy, this concentration of power will ultimately be focused on eliminating the redemptive potential of Israel. .
Since the end of World War II, the United States has exercised dominant influence in the world. The United States was the only major industrial power whose infrastructure was not destroyed by the war and, following the war, the U.S. military was the most potent in the world. America extended its industrial reach throughout the globe. This expansion of industrial might was protected by the U.S. military. U.S. hegemony was challenged by the Soviet Union for a forty year period (1948-1988) but ultimately the U.S. prevailed. Much has changed since the end of the World War but the U.S. continues to be seen as the lone superpower.
The American political system is made up of two competing political parties. From time to time a third party attempts to gain leverage but hasn’t enjoyed much success in recent history. One striking difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is their willingness to exercise the role of superpower. Republican administrations have been comfortable in the exercise and extension of U.S. hegemony, whereas, Democratic administrations are much more uncomfortable with that exercise. This seems evident to me in the Truman, Johnson, Carter, Clinton and now the Obama administrations. Perhaps had Mr. Kennedy survived to a second term, he would have exhibited the same reluctance.
Following the Yom Kippur war in the Middle-East in 1973, the Moslem oil-producing states initiated an economic war against the West through the oil embargo. This has resulted in the transfer of enormous wealth to Moslem nations. Much of this great wealth has, in turn, been reinvested in the West. As a result, the Moslem, oil-producing states exercise great influence on U.S. foreign policy. Much of the Moslem investment in the United States has been focused in banking, media and real estate. That influence should be evident to all in the media treatment of candidate Obama in the recent presidential campaign and now in his administration.
Mr. Obama is seen as the first black president. He is also, for all practical purposes, the first Moslem president. He has certainly conveyed that fact in private meetings with the King of Saudi Arabia (remember his bow to the king) and this fact was reflected in his Cairo speech to the Moslem nation in June. He appears to have a much closer identity with Moslems than he does with the average American. This is a result of his Moslem background and his years under the teachings of Reverend Wright in Chicago.
On the other hand, European globalists see U.S. superpower influence as the primary impediment to achieving their goal of a socialist, global village. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Mr. Obama with the hope that his efforts of moderating or neutralizing U.S. military and industrial dominance will promote their cause.
These are some of the reasons why Mr. Obama is so admired in many areas of the world but is experiencing growing disapproval in the United States. The end result of the trends discussed above will be the merging of the U.S. into the global village prepared to attack Israel. The bible is very specific that all nations will come up to make war against Israel and Jerusalem. “It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples, all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it”. (Zechariah 12:3).
What we are experiencing with the Obama administration is the rapid transformation of America preparing it to fit into the emerging global rebellion against the will of God. He has sought and received the support of many leaders in the Moslem world with which he identifies. His apologies for what he sees as America’s past transgressions delight European socialists. He has, of course, the solid support of leftist in the U.S. Only Bible believing Christians and other God-fearing Americans stand in the way of the transition that is underway. Should that transition be completed it is sure to bring God’s mighty wrath on this nation.
